Artesano Ltd is a family run business based in Reading, Berkshire, UK. The company was formed in 2003 to import finished alpaca goods such as scarves and ponchos. Our main suppliers were based in Bolivia, one of the poorest countries in South America and so we have been very careful to work with co-operatives and companies that have a good record of looking after the people that work for them.

Artesano started to import alpaca yarn in 2004 and have never looked back. the business has grown from strength to strength by providing excellent customer service and good quality products and pattern support.

We now have three main products, all made in 100% pure alpaca and we will be expanding our range over the next year to include two more alpaca based yarns.

While our yarns are of the best quality, we have managed to keep low prices by doing most of the work ourselves and not employing sales people, marketing specialists etc. This means that our prices are lower than many competitors for exactly the same products.

We are rapidly expanding our range of pattern support for all yarns with three more books of designs coming out this year.
